4R nutrient stewardship on hybrid bromegrass grown for second year seed production

A small-plot demonstration was conducted near Melfort, SK, to evaluate the response of hybrid bromegrass, planted in July 2022 for second-year seed production in 2024, to various nitrogen (N) sources -bare urea, bare urea with ANVOL™, AGROTAIN Advanced™ and SUPERU™ - each applied at three different times (October 9, 2023, May 9, 2024, and split application October 9 - May 9) and compared to an Untreated Control (UTC) with no N fertilizer. All plots received equal amounts of 11-52-0, 0-0-60, 21-0-0-24 broadcast in late fall. The demonstration recorded excellent growth with minimal weed and pest issues and an acceptable (<20%) Coefficient of Variation seed yield.
