Several events are planned for this summer including field days featuring forage seed production demonstrations and research trials. This winter, the Canadian Forage Seed Conference will be held in Grand Prairie.

Organic Field Day, Carrot River, SK

Sask Organics Field Day, Carrot River

Registration will be held in the parking lot of River’s Edge Seeds, followed by a tour of their hempseed processing  facility that is introducing hemp fibre processing! From there attendees will travel to a seed grower’s farm to learn about Intermediate Wheatgrass (IWG) and the ADOPT Project investigating its dual-use potential, simultaneous grain and forage, when grown in Northeast Saskatchewan under organic production.

Lunch and Networking

Registration of $35 includes ($33.25 + $1.75 GST) admission, lunch and refreshments!

If weather permits, we will travel to view the farm’s organic red clover fields and we’ll learn about some of the common red and yellow clover pests and some strategies for organic producers’ management of these pests.

We will view an interrow cultivator and more and have time for refreshments and networking to wrap up the day.
